Experience

For over 20 years Sheri has been a probate lawyer. Not only does she know the law, but she knows what it is like to help a family work through the legal and emotional consequences of death. Adult guardianships/conservatorships also come within the jurisdiction of the Probate Court. Watching a loved one slip away mentally is often more difficult than death. Sheri has made guardianship/conservatorship an active part of her law practice and she has helped many clients cope with the unique trials of incompetency. Sheri has continued to stay up to date on the laws in this area through Continuing Legal Education courses.

Sheri started her probate practice in 1986 when she went to work with the Chattanooga law firm of Stophel and Stophel, P.C. With the birth of her first child in 1989, Sheri reduced her hours and joined her husband David as an associate of Robert A. Whitlow in Dalton. In 1995 she and her husband founded the law firm of Blevins & Blevins, P.C. where the majority of Sheri’s practice has been, and continues to be, probate and estate planning.
